Is it a bird? A butterfly? A bee? An excrutiating boil on the bottom? A pain in the neck, and a nasty-tasting medicine? Yup. It's an extension of me; warts and all. A third arm if you like. Always handy, if you know what I mean...

Welcome to Daily Meander Dear Reader... This blog is intended to simply be an online diary. Like my real diary, it will contain political, funny, sexual, thoughtful, sweet and engaging entries. Some will be true, and some will be patently untrue. Imagination is part of life. I use mine. Use yours.

How do you get from Starboard to Green?

Aha. In Naval, and also Aeronautical terms, the lights on both boats and planes are green on the Starboard, and red on the Port sides. That way, you can tell which way it is tacking, or yawing, respectively.

You see, this is where I get muddled.

I was taught that the way to tell port from starboard is to remember that "left" has four letters as does "port" so port=left.

Starboard doesn't have four letters, nor does right, so starboard doesn't equally left, or maybe equals right.

So putting a colour that doesn't have 4 letters in it on thr left hand side confuses me.

Even the short form "red starts with and r" doesn't work.

Arrrgh.
